From returning series to new action and horror films, these are five titles to add to your weekend watchlist.

Chad Powers (Season 2)

Glen Powell returns as Russ Holliday, the disgraced former college quarterback who goes undercover as a walk-on named Chad Powers. After the events of the first season, keeping his real identity hidden becomes even harder.

Season 2 follows Chad as he tries to help a struggling South Georgia football team while keeping his secret from the people around him. All six episodes are now available on Hulu.

The Gentlemen (Season 2)

Eddie Horniman (Theo James) and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) are back, continuing to build their cannabis business. This time, their operation expands into Italy, where they come up against the Italian Mafia.

Ray Winstone also returns as Bobby Glass, whose presence from prison adds another problem for Eddie and Susie. All eight episodes of Season 2 are available on Netflix.

Mayday

Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh star in this action comedy about a U.S. Navy pilot who becomes stranded behind enemy lines during a secret mission in Russia.

The film comes from Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the team behind Game Night and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

By Any Means

Set in Mississippi in 1966, By Any Means follows a young Black FBI agent investigating the murders of civil rights activists. When the investigation hits a wall, the FBI turns to Greg Scarpa, a real-life Mafia hitman, to help get around official protocols.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars alongside Mark Wahlberg in the historical crime thriller, directed by Elegance Bratton.

Onslaught

An army sniper returns home to protect his family, only to find himself facing genetically modified super-soldiers who have escaped from a secret corporate facility.

Directed by Adam Wingard, whose credits include Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and You’re Next, the action-horror film brings a more intense genre entry to this week’s list.
