Netflix isn’t done with Nemesis just yet. The streaming giant has officially renewed the crime drama for a second season after the series became a breakout success, spending five consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 for English-language TV shows following its debut.

Created by Courtney A. Kemp (Power) and Tani Marole, Nemesis follows master thief Coltrane Wilder (Y’Lan Noel) as he stays one step ahead of the law while being relentlessly pursued by LAPD detective Isaiah Stiles (Matthew Law). Their gripping cat-and-mouse rivalry forms the heart of the series, blending high-stakes crime, action and personal drama.

The show’s strong reception from viewers played a major role in securing another season. Kemp thanked fans for their overwhelming support, saying their enthusiasm and constant conversations on social media helped make the renewal possible. Marole also expressed her appreciation, teasing that the next chapter will answer some of the biggest questions left behind by the first season while introducing even more surprises along the way.

Season one ended with a dramatic cliffhanger that left fans eager for more. After choosing to save his son instead of capturing Coltrane, Stiles allowed the elusive thief to escape, forcing him back into hiding. While Kemp has remained careful not to reveal too much about what’s ahead, she has hinted that Stiles will face the consequences of his decision, while Coltrane’s search for his wife will become a key storyline in season two.

Netflix also celebrated the renewal, with Nne Ebong, Vice President of Scripted Series for the U.S. and Canada, praising Kemp and Marole for creating a series that resonated with audiences around the world. Ebong described the global response to Nemesis as extraordinary and said the streamer is excited to continue the story with the creative team.

In addition to Noel and Law, the first season stars Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Domenick Lombardozzi, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Michael Potts, Sophina Brown, Cedric Joe, and Jeff Pierre.

Kemp executive produces Nemesis through her End of Episode banner alongside Marole and the rest of the producing team. Shortly after the series premiered, she also signed an overall television deal with Apple TV.

Netflix has yet to announce when Nemesis Season 2 will premiere.
